Before beginning your treatments, you’ll undergo a medical evaluation, which is necessary to assess your suitability for the treatment and to properly tailor your treatment plan.

The health insurance-covered spa treatments available at our Spa Center include specific treatment programs for the musculoskeletal system and the respiratory tract, all of which require a doctor’s prescription.

How to Access Subsidized Spa Treatments
Accessing spa treatments covered by the National Health Service is simple: just bring the required documentation and book your treatment package at the Spa Center of the Hotel Savoia Thermæ & Spa.
Doctor's Prescription and Appointment
Contact your primary care physician to obtaina referral, which must specify the condition, the requested treatment, the number of sessions, and any exemption from the copayment. Once you have obtained the referral, contact us to check availability, your preferred time frame, and treatment schedules.
Check-in and Medical Examination at the Spa
On the day of your arrival, we will ask you to present the necessary documentation: the original referral letter, your health insurance card, a valid ID, and any exemption certificate. Before beginning treatment, you are required to undergo a medical examination with the spa physician to confirm your eligibility for treatment.
Start of the treatment cycle
After your medical examination, you can begin your spa treatment program as agreed upon with the Spa Center. The treatments are carried out on a regular basis, following the doctor’s instructions and the schedule established at the time of booking.

Thermal treatments covered by health insurance can also be received without staying overnight at the Hotel Savoia Thermæ & Spa. This option is ideal for those who live near Abano Terme, for those already staying in the area, or for those who wish to visit the Thermal Center solely for a course of treatments.
During their visit, external guests may take advantage of outpatient services, subject to availability and internal regulations.

We offer you three splendid pools: THERMAE, the warm indoor pool, and AURUM, the warm outdoor pool, connected to each other with thermal water at 34-36°C (32-34°C during the summer months), and a third pool, GLACIA, the cool outdoor pool with thermal water at 27-29°C. Our thermal pools have a precious therapeutic effect, so we recommend using them for short periods at a time.
The Italian Ministry of Health has recognised the important therapeutic and rehabilitative role of thermal treatments for numerous conditions, awarding Hotel Savoia Thermæ & Spa the prestigious First Category Super classification.The main treatments available are:
- MUD TREATMENTS + THERMAL BATHS: recommended for osteoarthritis, widespread arthrosis, extra-articular rheumatic conditions and other disorders suitable for mud and thermal bath therapy;
- INHALATIONS + AEROSOL: recommended for bronchitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, sinusitis and other respiratory conditions.
- 89.90.2 for mud treatments + thermal baths;
- 89.91.2 for inhalation treatments.
THERMAE Our welcoming indoor pool is located on the ground floor, nestled in the heart of the thermal center. Starting from the reception, simply enter the treatment department and walk to the end of the corridor on the left: this evocative path will lead you directly to the relaxation of the pools and the SPA. Along the way, just before immersing yourself in the warm thermal waters, you will also find our modern fitness room.
For day guests who choose our property exclusively for mud therapy treatments (without staying at the hotel), direct access to the thermal pools is not included. However, we have reserved a special discounted rate of only €15 per person for you, which allows you to extend your relaxation by including a full 3 hours of access to our spectacular thermal pools and the SPA.
